The Unusual Podcast is an ongoing exploration into the elusive force that is creativity. The creators featured are from Singapore and across the world. From mural artists to illustrators, GIF artists to animators, creative directors and technologists, they all have the incredible ability to create work that is just as thought provoking as it is eye-catching. 

How do creative people see the world? Where do their ideas come from? Listening to creators talk about their journey, their habits, their values and their creations reveals hidden details, meanings and intentions, inspiring a different way of looking at the world.

This podcast was born during a Masters in Digital Management at Hyper Island Singapore. My thesis focused on design sensibilities and preparing young people for the future of work. When I spoke to creators from all walks of life, I noticed inherent sensibilities and habits that appear to unite them all, but also mentors and milestones in their upbringing and education that shaped who they are today. As a parent to young girls entering an uncertain future, but one where creative and critical thinking skills will definitely be paramount, I felt compelled to capture these conversations so that future generations may benefit from their wisdom.

This podcast aims to demystify creativity through casual authentic conversations with some of the world’s most creative individuals. Inspiring tips for anyone interested in nurturing creative thinking and innovation in their workplace or pursuing a career in the creative industries.
